2 Poppins Lane by Patricia Striar Rohner

Two sisters should feel safe in the home of their loving family.

But 2 Poppins Lane hides some secrets which only come to light when feisty Susan Stern plucks up the courage to speak to a neighbour who is a teacher and a friend. The Sterns face many of the problems that beset all families. None of the players here are without their faults but they remain human and show courage and determination in their efforts to make the world better for those around them. Can 2 Poppins Lane be their sanctuary?

Patricia Striar Rohner doesn’t judge as she tells the partly dark, partly hopeful story of 2 Poppins Lane.

Warning: this novel contains scenes of sexual abuse.

The author did an excellent job of showing both the perspective of the abuser and the one receiving the abuse, making the experience feel real and impactful. The book was an engaging and easy read that kept me wanting to know more, while also being highly educational on such and important subject.
As a former publisher, I previewed 2 Poppins Lane. It is a riveting and thought-provoking novel about a family dealing with sexual abuse of two young daughters by their cousin. Their father is a Doctor who with others create a Sexual Abuse Center to treat abused children and if they are willing to participate, the abusers. The family is also dealing with infidelity, divorce, remarriage, forgiveness, and moving on successfully with their lives.
